Did you know that Alexa, the "smart speaker", can talk you through CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitatioin)?    If someone collapses and an alexa speaker is nearby, then just shout
"Alexa, Emergency cpr"
Alexa will assist you by telling you what to do including CPR instructions

April 2023
As a result of the temporary closure of Budgens while it is converted to a sainsbury's supermarket the defibrillator formerly sited within budgens is currently unavailable

we have also removed the defibrillator from the henfield football club clubhouse on kings field and hope to resite this defibrillator at the clubhouse on rothery field (Nep town road). The nearest 24 hour defibrillator on kings field is outside the entrance of the leisure centre.

3 July 2022
All our defibrillators are registered on the national database "the circuit' which is accessed by emergency services to advise members of the public about the location and access to the nearest defibrillator.  Members of hart act as "guardians" for these defibrillators regularly checking to ensure that they are fit for purpose and ready for use!

If you have a defibrillator in your office or workplace which is not registered with "the circuit" and you would be willing to allow access in an emergency, then why not register it with
www.thecircuit.uk

1 July 2022

Our project to relocate as many defibrillators as possible to external 24/7 access has now completed for the present.  We thank all our kind landlords for the appropriate permission and also our sincere thanks to various donors for their generous gifts which has enabled this project to move forward.   We are now compiling an insert for bN5 Magazine which will list locations as well as information about use of a defibrillator and general advice on emergency cardiac care. .... look out for it (hopefully in September edition) and keep it accessible in case you ever need it!

12 FebruaRY 2022

ANOTHER TWO DEFIBRILLATORS HAVE BEEN RELOCATED TO PROVIDE 24 HOUR ACCESS... .THE ONE AT HENFIELD HAVEN AND THE ONE AT THE CRICKET CLUB ON THE COMMON.   BOTH OF THESE NEW SITES WILL IMPROVE ACCESS DRAMATICALLY.

4 February 2022
HART (Henfield Area Response Team) has today relocated the life saving defibrillator from behind the bar at THE FOX in SMALL DOLE to an external wall facing the car park. This will now allow 24 hour access, 365 days a year, to anyone suffering a cardiac collapse. This is part of HART's current project to make these defibrillator sites more accessible. We thank our many donors for their financial assistance in this project.
If you would like to contribute, then please consider texting HART to 70460 to give £5 or to 70470 to give £2. THANK YOU

15 June 2021   HELP PLEASE
HART have placed defibrillators around the village and maintain them with replacement pads, batteries as needed.

If you hear a defibrillator bleeping, then PLEASE DO contact us urgently as it will need some attention before the battery dies
.

A defibrillator with a dead or dying battery will be useless in an emergency.

We have put contact information on all the defibrillators for which we are responsible

HOW CAN WE FIND YOU IN AN EMERGENCY?

What three words would you use to describe where you live?  Is your house or residence clearly identifiable from the road?  Do you have a visible house number which can be seen in the rain at night?

There is a newish website and app available now which is able to identify every 3metre x 3 metre piece of land on the globe's surface with a combination of three words.  This gives much more exact location information to anyone searching to find someone or somewhere.

One the biggest problems HART volunteers have, when called to an emergency, is finding a particular house or location ... even more so when daylight has faded.

If everyone knew the three word location for their house or place of work, then the local emergency services can translate this information to give our attending volunteers exact directions enabling them to reach a collapsed person much faster.   Every minute saved is a minute nearer recovery.

The APP is available free of charge from either Google or Apple app stores.

For more information on how the system works, have a look at the website  www.what3words.com  or click on the button below:
